This is who we are

Though many bigger, more commercially driven art institutions like museums and auction houses continue to disproportionately recruit and address middle and mainstream America, certain nonprofit organizations have been modeling the kind of diversity needed in the arts and cultural world for decades. Whether they operate at a local, national, or global scale, these organizations are often far better at speaking to more inclusive communities. And while diversity in programming at nonprofits doesn’t always go hand in hand with diversity in hiring and board membership, there are still many that understand that meaningful change requires a holistic approach and people of color in leadership roles.

The Afro Cultural Arts & Humanities has led the way to creating the Afro Arts & Culture Coalition which consists of the following organizations (Afro Arts Culture & Humanities, Art for the Soul Gallery, The Pan African Historical Museum (PAHMUSA), The Juneteenth Celebration Committee, The Boys and Girls Club Family Center, Our Journey Health & Wellness, and Enganjyani Health & Wellness.) The Coalition is a dedicated collective of cultural and arts based organizations providing programs, events, and activities promoting and enhancing the arts and culture in the African American community.
